Executive Director | Veterans Health Solutions/ First To Care

Mr. Life Darrell Griffith serves as the Executive Director of Veterans Health Solutions/First To Care VHS is a non-profit public benefit corporation that specializes in educating the veteran and underserved community about Hemp/CBD Oil as an alternative solution for pain management and to combat the opioid crisis. Prior to creating Veterans Health Solutions/First To Care, Mr. Griffith served as a Legal Administrative Specialist & Minority Veteran Program Coordinator for the West Los Angeles Department of Veterans Affairs from 2012 to 2015. His responsibilities included serving as the primary contact for the veteran benefit programs and entitlement criteria, conducted interviews, identified pertinent issues, gathered relevant medical evidence, adjudicated claims, and processed data necessary to generate awards and notification letters for veteran payments. He was also responsible for sponsoring all minority veterans and their beneficiaries including briefing veteran organizations throughout the Los Angeles counties. During his tenure, he notably established a world class customer service platform; renovated the benefits presentation agenda which added more veterans to its regional customer base; and grew the organization’s presence in the underserved veteran communities. Life is widely recognized for his leadership style and has served in a broad assortment of leadership and staff positions as a combat medic throughout his 19 year U.S. Army career. His early assignments included duty with the HHC 1st Battalion, 7th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division (Rock of the Marne), the 514 Medical Company, 36th Medical Battalion, the 7238 Medical Support Unit/ 8th Medical Brigade/Legal Division, the 170th Military Police/ 504th Battalion, the 168th Medical Company, 8th Medical Brigade. In October of 2000, he was called back to active duty to support the Global War on Terrorism. He served as Lead Medical supervisor for the Military Entrance Processing Center/Department of Defense and as a U.S. Army civilian contractor in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom/Task Force Hydra from 2011-2012. His military education, award, and decorations include the Primary Leadership Development Course, Emergency Medical Technician Course, Trauma AIMS and PHTLS Course. The Army Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, (2) Army Achievement medals, (2) Good Conduct medals, the National Defense Medal with bronze star, the NCOES medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Combat Medical Badge, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Army service ribbon, the Overseas service medal, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, the Army superior unit award, the Cold War Recognition Certificate and the French Commando Badge with fourragere. Life is personally committed to service-based leadership, improving the lives of his fellow veterans and mentoring the youth. He is a tenacious leader in his community and is an active representative of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., The American Legion, Veteran of Foreign Wars and Disabled Veterans of American. He is a certified Master Hemp instructor from the Cannabis Career Institute and the Cannabis Training University. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and a Master's of Science degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Leadership from the American College of Financial Services.
