Compassionate Care Nursing Services, LLC / Founder
Elizabeth is an oncology nurse turned cannabis nurse living and working in Miami Florida who 4 years ago, found herself in a wheelchair and unable to walk. 90% of her small nerve fibers were destroyed and she was living in constant pain and needing to crawl upstairs. All the prescription medications she was prescribed by her doctors gave her severe and life-limiting side-effects.
Medical cannabis was suggested to her many times; but never by a medical professional. She knew how cannabis helped her cancer patients but did not know if it would help with her symptoms; much less help her to return to a full life. After much reluctance, and great difficulty, she found a medical doctor educated enough on cannabis to talk with her and help her.
Elizabeth's frustration at the difficulty to find accurate, evidence-based information on cannabis lead her to leave the Miami Cancer Institute where her job was to educate new patients about their chemotherapies and their side-effects and to began her own nursing education company. Through her company ; Compassionate Care Nursing Services, she is able to educate patients, medical professionals, and the community on the medical benefits of cannabis, and the need for re or de-classification in order to perform quality on-going research.
She has been a legal medical cannabis user since 2017. Cannabis has been her life savor and she no longer needs a wheelchair, cane , or to crawl up any stairs. She is passionate about the importance of evidence based education and science. She believes every doctor and patient should have the right of access to cannabis medicine where appropriate.
She belongs to the American Cannabis Nursing Association, Cannabis Nurse Networks, Oncology of Nurses Society, American Holistic Nurses Association.
